Joaquin VFD Chili Supper, Political Rally, and Cake Auction
The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will host a political rally fundraiser on Saturday, February 1st at the Joaquin ISD Cafeteria. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., guests can enjoy a bowl of homemade chili with crackers and a drink for $5.00. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to meet and visit with many of the candidates on the Shelby County Precinct 3 ballot for the March Primary. This should include, but is not limited to, candidates vying for Shelby County Sheriff, Precinct 3 County Commissioner, Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace, and Shelby County District Attorney. This will be a chance for voters to get to know the candidates before they cast their vote. Beginning at 7:00, each candidate will have the opportunity to speak to the community concerning the issues in their particular races. After speaking, the candidates will get to auction off a cake or pie and impress the voters with their persuasive skills. We look forward to a fun and entertaining evening, and hope to see a full house!
