Shelby Commissioners set budget & tax hearing along with regular meeting
The Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will meet at 9:30 a.m., Sept. 12, in the courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse, 200 San Augustine St. for a regular meeting. It will be followed at 10 a.m. by a public hearing on on the county's 2018-2019 tax rate and proposed budget. The hearing will include an opportunity for public comments.
The regular meeting will include action on approving minutes of previous meetings, consider approving pay and weekly expenses and consider approving officers' report. Commissioners will also consider extending or recinding a burn ban in effect and discuss and consider approving a deputy constable positoin for Pct. 3 Constable Roy Cheatwood.
Also on the agenda are comments, discussion and possible action on a report from the tax assessor collector on either ending or renewing a contract with Computer Information Concepts. If approved, the court could also approve payment of $4,600 for renewing the contract.
