Creative arts competition set for October Poultry Festival

Categories cover several age groups

The 42nd East Texas Poultry Festival will be featuring local Creative Arts through the annual Creative Arts Show, sponsored by Scull Timber, along with a Can-A-Rama featuring local canned goods.

Chamber officials urge the public to not miss this opportunity to show their handiwork in art, quilting, canning, crafts, woodworking and metal art.

All creative arts divisions have several classes of judging categories and are open to elementary — kindergarten through 5th grades; youth 6th through 12th grades; and adults that will be judged in separate divisions.

Ribbons will be awarded to the top three places in each category along with a sweepstakes rosette for top point winner in all divisions, organizers said.

Creative Arts entries are to be delivered to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Gym Building between the hours of 9 a.m. To 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, or Tuesday, Oct. 2.
