Iraq War sacrifices to be remembered

Ceremony set for 10 a.m., Aug. 31, at historic Shelby County Courthouse
The official end to U.S. Combat Operations in Iraq came on Aug. 31, 2010.  The Veterans of Foreign Wars will insure the patriotism and sacrifices of this generation to include US Army Specialist Larry E. Polley, Jr. of Center who was killed in action are never forgotten by the American people. 
Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary invite all Iraq Veterans and the public to a remembrance program to be held at the Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the Historic Courthouse, Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. 
If you can attend the program and are an Iraq War Veteran or the relative of an Iraq War Veteran VFW Post 8904 would like to recognize and present you with a certificate of service.   Call Post Quartermaster Larry Hume at 598-2976 or email with the veteran’s name and who will be attending for the presentation.
